Knotty, the branch burner, reverse flow build!

I still have to finish little Lumpy, then I will start these Knotty's. With 18" deep by 30 inches long, these will be a unique size that I think will still be big enough for parties, but small enough to move it around without needing to add on to the garage:-) That 48 will probably be while...

    Lang's "3rd generation" smokers!!

It really depends how much wood you have and whether you are willing to burn it when you don't need the smoke. Some people will use charcoal at the beginning as well to get a good bed of coals then add wood just to make it an easier burn. Back to subject--3RD GENERATION LANGS-----ANYONE ELSE...

Knotty, the branch burner, reverse flow build!

Here we go again, I drove by the tank yard and couldn't help myself :-( Got 7 tanks 18" by 30" long for the Knotty's and one 24"diameter by 48" long for a Lang 48 clone! The first pic shows left to right, Knotty, Lumpy, and Twiggy Tanks!! The big 48 is laying down in my truck:-)

    Lang's "3rd generation" smokers!!

A lot, if your propane is only for the log-lighter system and no other stuff, like side burners, etc, then it should last a real long time. You really only use it for the first 5 to 10 minutes for most normal smokes and maybe a shot or two during the smoke. You will use more though if you do a...

    Lang or Diamond Plate?

Ask for Ben. He is the owner and usually handles ALL the calls with smoker questions, so, I bet he is either out or handling others. You must talk to him, because even if you don't buy from him, you will learn something whether it be about smoken in general or about your needs---He knows how...

    Lang or Diamond Plate?

I am a lang lover too, although the DP's are pretty nice. For me, I love the reverse flows, but have never smoked on anything else. I think I love them so much because I really didn't need to practice---its just plain easy to smoke on the Lang 60 or even the other reverse flows I have...

    Lang's "3rd generation" smokers!!

I think the gas assist is like having power windows on a car. If you have a car without power windows, you don't really see the need until you get one that has em:-) I can't see myself without gas assist now. It speeds up the start-up time so much and also has other benefits. Say you fall...

Wow---30 years, thats rare these days--they owe you:-) I like your profession and have worked with many EE's over the years. I would much rather be smoking on my Lang than doing binary-vector Boolean algebra! Keep Smok'n! Thanks again, SMS

Get well Soon Or......we will be after your tenderloins--sorry, couldn't help myself there. I call my cat pork loin because he's just that size. Seriously, you might have been able to get the boy to put em in the smoker for a few hours then to the oven---we got to get the boy trained!! Maybe...

Just split a huge score---identify wood type?

Went to my brothers today and he filled my truck with large 16 inch long by 12 to 16" diameter logs from his wood lot. I took these strange hardwood logs home and convinced my lovely wife to split them! Notice the pics! Anyone identify them? MY Brother says that the clue is that my lovely...

    Lang's "3rd generation" smokers!!

Thanks, I just have to know the details:-) I wish I lived next to Mr. Lang, I would beg him for a job just for the fringe benefits!! As said before, those chickens looked absolutely awesome, but I cannot wait for more pics of that awesome smoker too!!!!

    Lang's "3rd generation" smokers!!

Nice Job on the chicks!! Hey are you sure that the tanks are 1/4" now and not 1/8". I know his fireboxes are 1/4, but if the tanks are that thick now, it would double the weight of his smokers and he would need to change his trailer designs, etc. SMS
