The dinner sounds and looks good to me. Anyway, you're feeding firefighters! My department (volunteer) and the paid folks I worked with NEVER turned their nose up to anything to eat .... COMPLAIN AFTER EATING maybe, but not while eating?! !🤦♂️ I don't recall even our EMTS or LEA having any...
rc4u - Thanks for wake-up call. I'm an old Radiohead and love wireless, and not the satellite, but the true radio wireless. But old habits, like landline phones AND internet black boxes are hard to give up. Most of us still recall the 300/1200/2400 baud rate over telephone lines and our black...
Great looking meal. Thanks for the pictures and recipe. Added to my to-do list .... after I get through making my liquid refreshments - 5 gal of red wine and 10 gal of peanut butter chocolate stout. 🍻

My latest trek to a restaurant supplier had brisket flats at $8.79/lb. 2lba. - on "special" no less! I agree - it's ground beef time and see if beef knuckles have gone up yet. Forgot to check that after the fire for effect result of the brisket. 🍻

Welcome to the Forum from South Carolina's Thoroughbred Country. Really appreciate the photos, especially the one of Angus - beautiful capture of his stride! Gentile giants! LOL!🍻

Definitely a sweetheart! Can't wait to see the inaugural meal. IDEA: the ribs with a TexMex style sauce, roasted corn on the cob, a few foil vegetable packs and some chicken wings/thighs on the top rack, so it doesn't feel left out?! LOL!!!🍻

Love the post and the pictures. I picked mine up under the last promotion and have never looked back. Constantly find new ways to use it for the wife and I and at a friends restaurant.🍻

Thanks Steve H for the walk down memory lane. Most of the time I would throw a glider, it would go straight up and nosedive into the ground or bank and end up in the oak tree?! Never mattered how I slide the wings or threw it. And the nose tip always came off and if you squeezed it too hard...
Outstanding looking meal Robert. Thank you for posting your rub recipe. I never heard of using activated charcoal in a spice mixture to enhance the crispness and flavor profile. Your recipe and Chef JJ's comment above have sparked my interest in the Umami/char grill flavor mixture.🍻

One-eyed-jack - Thank you for the words of comfort and support.
912smoker and fueling-around - Thank you for the likes. It's been a rollercoaster ride.
Now comes the time to step up to the plate and get the restaurant back open and running without the owner/chef. 🍻🍻

I'm jealous! Your photos were so peaceful and inspiring. Guess Mrs. Wurtz & I need to get busy! The weather here in SC is really nice for outdoor canning and cooking. 🍻

Disclaimer: The following is not to say what a good boy am I. Contrary, it's to illustrate that even minor folks away from Ground Zero got blasted as well. Please don't let this post take away from those at Ground Zero and the other targets and their families. Their sacrifice is far greater...
