Beautiful looking wurst and I like the smoker set up you have. I make sausage all year long here in SC and use Cure#1 all the time. Not a huge fan of fresh sausage in our hot/humid climate Plus, I always worry about how the folks I give the sausage to handle it. 🍻

Thanks for a great looking meal and presentation. Mrs. Wurtz saw it as well and added it to my "to cook list!" Time to get the chicken thighs out of the freezer and have a go at it! 🍻

First - Welcome to the Forum from South Carolina's Thoroughbred Country. Your attachment didn't make the post. But without that, there should be a lot of folks out there who understand your question and give you a response. IMHO: Probably it's not an issue. However, if the new one fails and...

Be careful the MES has about a 5-10 degree swing to it from heater off to heater on. I let my "settle in" for about an hour before I...
Sounds like a nice birthday gift for myself and is a good excuse to go shopping at the Chef Store in Columbia after sampling the "Q." Any idea the cost for spectators? Didn't see it listed on the Southern BBQ Network page. I hate to admit it Tag0401, I've lived in Columbia and throughout SC...
Not a dumb question at all! IMHO, the rubber tip is for protecting the probe tip from damage and stabbing oneself and should be removed prior to use. At least that's what I've done. It's probably somewhere in the instruction which I never read. The rubber tip will shield the probe tip and...
Welcome to the Forum from South Carolina's Thoroughbred Country. Interesting stove/smoker unit. Reminds me of a rocket stove. Looking forward to your posts of meals cooked in the Orion. 🍻
