    The bad thing is that the prices may not come down after the shortages are over. Here, the power company raises their rates when the price of oil goes up, but they don't lower them once the price of oil goes down. Is the same thing going to happen with food?

    A bad day smoking meat is still better than a good day at work. I'm trying to decide what I'll smoke first in my new smoker. It ain't nothing fancy, just an ECB, but you can still cook a good piece of meat wih one. Addiction to smoking meat is normal Ernie.

    IMO, a gas grill is just an outdoor stovetop. Charcoal grills give you an authentic flavor you won't get from gas. Anyway, to answer your question, Char-broil products are usually fairly good. I owned a Charbroil electric smoker that I got good results with and still have a Char-broil kettle...

    Good. Let me know if you're happy with it because I'm thinking about getting one later. For now I'll be getting by with a modified ECB because I want something easy to transport, but later on I'll want a large smoker with an offset firebox.

    I've heard that Char Broil bought out Oklahoma Joe. If this is true, the Char Broil could be the same smoker. Unless Char Broil started cutting corners on qualiy. Char broil smokers and grills usually get good reviews, so the Char Broil Longhorn should be worth checking out.

    I have a Char grill also. Your thermometer is sticking. I'm not sure about why your meat temp isn't getting above 140 though. I haven't had the problem with the meat temperature. That should be a problem with the heat controller. If you have a warranty, have Char grill replace your heat control...
