Venture, you are very correct stainless can be a pain to work with especially when you don't know the grade. My father and late grandfather where both tool and die makers and now that my father has retired he opened up a small machine shop. If I was back up north I would have just taken it out...
It's a lapped face on the cutter and a grinder would do more damage. I'll take it with me to work, I have some stones there that I might try to fix it with or send it up to my dad to put in the lapping machine and try to save it. Was hoping to take some sausage back home for christmas presents
OK wasn't sure if there was a standard on these blades or how that works. Getting my education threw screwing up and some great guys here. I'll have to look and see if I can find anyone close by that has replacement parts so I don't have to have them shipped in and won't be down to long. So...
So in a bone headed I wrecked my grinder blade. I have a Cabelas pro450, entry level grinder. As I was cleaning up I didn't see the blade go down into the garbage disposal. I'm washing everything up and the dishwasher starts emptying and water starts coming up inito the sink. no big deal...

Nepas, thanks for the reply. The air pockets where inside the stuffing tube from when I filled it. Just looking for some tips so I can avoid that on the next batch cause I have a feeling that these won't be around very long when My roomates get intot them.
ok so I tried my hand last night at snack sticks. I was using a 21 mm casings that came with the seasoning kit and was using my Cabelas Jerky Blaster with the small single tip. Ok now for my questions
1. how do you easily load this thing without getting air pockets in it.
2. should I be...
i would have eto say answer "D' all of the above. Don't think I've tried a sausage that I didn't like, except for maybe blood sausage.
Top on the list would be a summer sausage and some jalapeno snack sticks or something like that. I'm game for trying almost anything just don't want to do...
I do have a Cabela's Pro Grinder with stuffer tubes. I know it's not the top of the line but should be able to get me into enough trouble. I also have the Cabela's Jerky Blaster for stuffing snack sticks. I'll be using a Cookshack MS008
Craig, It's a '58 Ford F100 with a 6.9 lt. International diesel with a Hypermax turbo on it. It's sitting in storage back up north untill I get a bigger place down here in Texas to work on it and store it.
While workring on the ranch the otherday I found a Smokeshack SM008 sitting in the corner of the shed all covered in dust and cobwebs. I asked the owner is about it and he said I could take it home and use it for as long as I want, he didn't want to sell it but he was happy to let me use it. ...
Well over here in Texas my buddy and I have only been hunting in the mornings and have about 50 in the freezer so far, and a few more made it into some japalenos with cheese and in the smoker right now
