I'm a craigslist shopper. It takes patience though. If you want something "right now" it probably wouldn't work out for ya. I've been a charcoal guy on the grill for about 8 years. Lately been yearning to pick up a gas grill and give it another whirl. Picked this up for $150
It's a Ducane...
Thanks for all the responses here. I picked up a Ducane Stainless today. I think that is like the top of the line Ducane. (Affinity, then Meridian, then Stainless if I'm reading their website right).
$150 included the tank which is about 3/4 full and less than 3 years old. :)
It's all...
Right now my smoker sits over at one end of the patio, OFF the patio, and isn't real convenient this way. It's also entirely exposed to the wind so I built a wind break around it, but it was never intended to be used permanently and is getting kinda ratty looking. I'd LIKE to move it closer to...
OK I'm back. It would have been a great deal if it wasn't a scam. She posted on craigslist, and on her pictures, she says please use my real email and gives a gmail address. I emailed asking for more information.
She responded quickly saying someone had already bought it, but she's been buying...

I found a new one on...
Oh and it came out like this...
and when I sliced it (I pulled it at 200 but it didn't look like it wanted to pull)
shows a very pronounced smoke ring. Smoke flavor was mild (on purpose) as I used apple and ran smoke for about 3 hours. Next one I think I'll punch up the rub a little as...
Hmmm... no. It was in a 2-pack, not frozen... all it says on the package of the 2nd one is "Chuck Roast Boneless Beef - USDA Choice" so... if there are multiple kinds of chuck roasts I'm clueless :)
Pulled it off the smoker at 4:30 at 200 IT.
That's 9 hours and 45 minutes for a 3 and a quarter pound chuckie. All I can say is.... wow.... not what I expected. Now I just have to let it rest at least an hour before I open that foil and see what we got.
