I was actually hoping to see what the other latch mech. That adjoins to the one in your pic looks like, I'm guessing the handle on the fridge door has a moving mechanism that locks into that piece? Also, I looked for the post on how to properly sheet your door and I couldn't find it, so I will...
I sent Todd a pm. I took your advice on the 12_18. 3000 feet high in elevation? Elevation is one of those things that is relative to where you live. Haha
Thanks Wade, great post , very informative. Good pics too, nice build. So you recommend the tray over the 12-18 expandable? I would like to hear about your fan, been considering one myself. How did you do it? How does it hold up to the smoke, heat, creosote, etc associated with the smoking...
I would like to order the amazen package number 5 but with the 12 to 18 expanding instead of a 6". Can Todd hook that up? Probably too late for the 20% holiday coupon hey? Any comment on blue smoke Vs white with the amazen?
Thanks Bear. Loved the post on your chainsaw carvings btw. Been doing a lot of research on different smoke options and just getting more confused. I did make the mistake of getting excited and responding to the challenge on page 1 before realizing there's 9 pages. I definitely see advantages to...
Nice looking fridge! You are well on your way. In regards to the racks, put a magnet to them, if they are non ferrous, probably stainless, but take a razor blade to it. If it's aluminum you can easily scrape some metal off. Stainless you will just clean it. Which pid did you buy? What's your...
I am considering buying an AMNPS, but would be glad to give an unbiased test of both, photos and times included. Pm me for an address if you are serious. I have lived abroad and can respect that quality products come from around the world. I like German steel, Argentinan wine, and have had great...
Look under my posts for off gassing. There is a longer explanation there. My plan was to keep it under 225, but I tried to exceed that for burn in so that anything burning between 225 and 250 would already be burnt off.
Temp spikes are fairly common though, the smell was pretty bad and it has...
Considered doing this myself, the man I purchased my traulsen refrigerator from had done it for his business with a different smoker. He had a pellet smoker vented out his garage.
That being said, I passed on the idea because at some point you open the doors, and I don't want the smoke in my...
Depending on where your at in canada I could possibly help. I live in idaho close to spokane and frequently travel to CA to visit my in laws. They are close to kelowna.
I have a Louisiana pellet for my main bbq and very happy with it. I have also built a couple straight smokers. Looks like you...
Well, I wish I could say it's up and running great, but having problems with off gassing from the insulation. Now I don't trust the insulation so it has to go. Which means dismantling the whole project. Wish I used screws instead of rivets. Pretty bummed right now, haven't touched it in days.
