    They work great I have one on my Lang 84 you will need a 25 cfm fan and it looks like you have a sliding type air inlet on you fire box.     No I never have but I have heard that it is not worth the trouble and isn't necessary because as you said the results with out it speeks for itself.

    With my 84 the longer the cook the closer the temp difference between the front and back is and the stoker makes it even closer.
