Add Propane Burner to Fire Box

I am wanting to add a burner to a 250 Gal Reverse Smoker in the fire box.  I was wondering if anyone has done this.  The reason I wanting to do it is to better control the temperature after the smoking process has been done with the wood. If anyone has done this and would share the information...

    Simple, small, RF build

Looks great!  Question on your hinges.  Does this help keep the door from warping the way it appears it does?

Yes I got one that did the same.  Contacted them back, sent them a picture of it, and they replaced it free.  Thats why I buy from them.

250 REVERSE FLOW W/ TRAILER BUILD

Excellent work!  Love the table over the fire box and the way you used angle on the rack guides with the top piece to secure when pulled out.  Going to start doing that myself.

    Re-cutting doors?

I really like this one!  I would first do what Tom said and run the calculator and make sure say it is it's a go.  If the fire box is in poor shape, then you can make sure you build it to the correct size.  As far as the doors, it just a little labor and welding to get them, to the size you...

Welcome to the forum.  You will like this site very much and the team is great with helping.  I never built a 500 Gal, but a few 250 gal and down.  If you are building the trailer too, please make sure you have the welding skills for that type project (don't want to say you don't, just safety...

    Hinges for my builds

I use these the most.  I have use weld on 4" before and works great too.  I prefer to make mine as my first choice. It's made of 1/2" bar and I get the pipe as close to 1/2" ID as I can.  Make sure you get pipe so you want have the weld seam on the inside. Hope this helps and good luck on your...

I built a 250 gal RF and added a grill in the firebox and made a storage rack on the back side of the smoker to store when smoking. Good luck on your build.
