ANY list that has Famous Dave's can't be trustworthy. I was half expecting Rib Crib to make the list also.
Kansas City has multiple BBQ offerings, and each offer something good. Jack Stack has great Cheesy corn and Gates' fries are good. Oklahoma Joes has wonderful coleslaw. But if you want BBQ...
Welcome Lance to SMF!
I had a similar experience several years ago with a wild turkey in a Brinkman bullet. I've never tried to smoke Pheasant, but I have had some success with duck and goose. The flavor has always been perfect, but the meat around the outside got too dry.
If you haven't...
While playing video games with my son I used the screen name DAD. He said I needed to use a cooler name, so I typed in STACKS. He wanted to know if I came up with it because I BBQ? I told him yes. (I actually got the nickname while playing blackjack, from a friend who wasn't as... skillful as...
Troy - Welcome to SMF!
As soon as your wife lets you get your hands on the smoker season it. Should be instructions in the box. If not you can find out how on this forum. Once thats done your ready to smoke. In the mean time take the 5 day e-course for the basics. If you have ANY questions at...
Welcome to SMF!! Really looking forward to seeing your posts. Sounds like you have all the tools to make some great Q. This for sure is the best forum to help you along.
If you are looking to fry a turkey this reciepe (attached) has never failed to please.
I will admit it's a bit expensive to make and I wouldn't bother unless you are planning on doing at least 2 birds. I have prepared this about four times always puting the frozen birds and maranaide in a large...
Read on another string to use an oven turkey bag. Put your bird in and fill with the brine, squeeze out the excess air and twits tie shut.
I plan on using brine this year for the first time and this seemed like a good space saving idea.
Don't know if it works, but the theory is solid.
You all have convinced me to try the brine. Found what looks like a good solution on this site - spicy.
Thanks for the links too. Very good information.
I find myself wandering to SMF every time I get on the web. SMOKE INFORMATION OVERLOAD I love it!!!
Planning on Qing some ribs and butt...
Planning to smoke a bird for the extended Fam
plan was - 12 to13 lb bird, cavity filled with an orange, 2 apples, celery,& an onion. brush outside with olive oil and a rub in and out (not sure what kind yet) in a pan using indirect heat between 270 and 350 deg. on a brinkman cimmeron with either...
Richtee - I build my fires just a little South East of Kansas City. Wind not as bad here but gets mighty cold. Makes for a challenge to Q in late winter, but noth'n smells better than smoked ribs on a still January day. And the beer is ALWAYS cold.
Wanted to introduce myself to SMF.
I have been Q'ing for a few years now. Started with a Brinkman water smoker, worked well during the summer but wouldn't hold heat on those cold winter days. Moved up to a Brinkman Cimmeron 1/4 steel, sepreate firebox, room for more meat, and a halfway decent...
