Yeah, can't wait till I learn enough to be able to make my own rubs and sauces that actually complement which food they were for correctly. ha ha ha Oh and the right wood chips too.
Well it came out good. Everyone liked it. It wasn't dry at all, but I was nervous where I noticed the IT was about 240*. I don't know how accurate the built in thermometer is on the Masterbuilt 30"? Guess I should be looking for another remote thermometer to do some comparisons.
Thanks for your input. I have a 30" Masterbuilt Smoker. I set the temp to 235* I started it about 5:30 this morning. I pulled out rack 3 (2nd from the top) and put it on rack 2 (2nd from the bottom). I put a catch pan on the 1st rack (bottom) to catch the drippings. Which I was going to...
Hi All. Bruce here from Chester, NH. Just getting started in Smoking about a month ago. Only done some ribs, Butternut squash, and some Sweet Potato's. That was a good meal. Actually a couple good meals. Mmmm
So now I got family coming over late tomorrow and I thought I'd try serving...
Great information Foamheart.
I'm very new to Smoking, so this is not from experience. I was just thinking two things, 1st you lose your temperature from opening the door and having to leave it open so long because of trying to, 2nd replace the wood chip in a hot tray. So what if, just prior...
Ha ha, I can laugh now but I wasn't yesterday. Funny thing though, on the way home from work today all I could think of was what should I by next to smoke.
The ribs were really good, I put the Butternut squash and Sweet potato's in a little late. I only gave them an hour and at 225* they needed more like 2 to 2.5 hours. They were both good after they finished. The Sweet potato's I submerged in water for about a half hour prior to putting them in...
I took the picture with an hour and 12 minutes left. I had the temp set at 225*. I'm guessing that's why you asked. I should have timed the picture when it toggled to the temp. ha ha ha
The ribs were good and juicy. With time I will perfect it to my taste buds. So I hope. ha ha ha
Ok I...
Went out and bought two packs of full size Pork Ribs to try my hand at Smoking, a little over 7#'s. I have been married for 31 years and only cooked one, yes 1 time. So I have no right to be calling the shots yet on cooking anything. Cindy (my wife) reminds me every now and then how I never...
Well thanks for the welcome. My house is on what use to be a Sugar Bush. I have lots of Sugar Maple trees on my property. The local Sugar house taps my trees late every March. What I'm getting to is I have Quardzillions of leaves to clean up every year. So this is my forth day of plowing...
I'm in Chester, New Hampshire and I have always wanted to get into Smoking Foods. Well one of the Members (Luv2Q's) on here posted yesterday that Tractor Supply was having their winter clearance sale. It was on the Masterbuilt 30" Glass front electric smoker which is the one I was reading...
