I picked up a maverick etc732 thermometer and some BBQ Guru Eyelets. Unless I'm missing something it doesn't seem that the food thermometer fits through the hole. I thought I read on here that they did, but I couldn't seem to get them to fit. To be honest, I don't think I installed the eyelets...
Thanks for the tips. Much appreciated. I filled the water pan on my first cook, and I was using the thermometer that came with the cooker. Needless to say I just ordered the Maverick ET732 and the BBQ Guru eyelets.
I'm throwing a pretty big bash this weekend for my son's 1st birthday party...
Ok, I just got my new 22.5 WSM and I'm so glad I made the move. But I have some questions for the veteran WSM users out there. This weekend I did a butt and a rack of spares, and they turned out amazing. But, I did struggle with temp control, and I think I was doing some things wrong. I used RO...
Well i finally got rid of my fuel hog, maintenance intensive offset, and pulled the trigger on a 22.5 WSM. I'm a big fan of Weber products (especially the kettle) and I'm so pumped to get this cooker!!. I've read nothing but great reviews on here, and because its a Weber I know it's worth it...
Shit. I wish I didn't just buy the smokenator. lol. Oh well. I'm sure i'll get some use out of it. Let me know how the firebrick works out. I'll maintain with my kettle until I save enough for the 22 WSM. I'm through with the offsets. Well, at least until I can afford a Lang ;)
I just received the rotisserie attachment for my 22 1/2" Weber OTS, and was wondering if anyone has ever done pork shoulder on it? I'm very tempted to try it out, but I'm afraid that once its toward the end of the cook it might start to fall off the spit. Has anyone ever done one on the weber...
I have a modified offset that I'm finally giving up on. Maintaining the fire and temp is just too much of a hassle, so I'm going to put it on Craigslist and move forward with my Weber 22 1/2" Silver. I recently just purchased one of these (today actually)

Thanks Venture. I'll definitely check those out. I got time, smoking some ribs on the old Weber kettle ;) . Can't think of a better way to kill the time than to look at firebox mods.
Hey everyone. I'm hoping someone out there has experience modifying a Chargriller firebox. I modified a charcoal grill from sam's club and turned into an off set smoker by adding a chargriller firebox to it. It works real well, and is built with some solid steel. However, the firebox I have is...
Thanks guys. I have a question and it might be stupid one, but what exactly do you guys mean by sticks? Are you just splitting your wood to a certain size and then throwing it on the embers? I think I want to try this method, but want to make sure I'm doing it right.
Hello everyone. I'm very excited to be a member of this group. I've already started some threads and have received great advice thus far. Everyone in this group Rocks! I can tell I'm in the right place.
I was born and raised in Erie, PA and live here now. I lived in Phoenix, AZ for about 3...
Thanks for the tip JDT. I really want to start smoking with straight wood. From what everyone says, and from what i've read in the SMF, it is definitely the way to smoke. The logs I was using were definitely too large. I can't wait to get back out there this weekend and give it another shot. I...
