We have one of those large offset umbrellas. I didn't like the large water/sand weights. So I welded up a plate and base for it. The deck is reinforced below with 6×6 post. I leave this mount in all year round.

Trim the large fat off before you grind. You can always add it back in. You be the judge about the right amount of fat. We save and freeze it for future use. When we clean out the freezer render it down for tallow .

I use a chain scrubber. I use this an salt water for touch ups on my CI. Any oil works but I prefer Grape seed oil and higher temps 400F
