Costco Prime Brisket Franklin Style(Kinda) w-Q View

I think it really helps to "loosen" up the brisket and also allows the juices to fully redistribute throughout the meat. Franklin keep his finished briskets in a (140-160 degree)food warmer for 6-8 hrs. until he opens. I don't really know if this is part of what makes his briskets legendary or...

What are the latest brisket prices?

Today at Costco $ 2.69/lb for the Prime Whole briskets.  Case price(5 pcs.) was $2.55/lb.  I went there to buy a case of them but they won't let you pic through them at the case price. It's take the un-opened box at that price. They only had one brisket out in the store case, so the meat lady...

    Last minute brisket

If you have any left. Place the slices in a foil pan with some liquid ( butter, apple juice or apple cider vinegar ect.) and cover tight with foil. Put back on the fire to re- heat/steam for an hour or two..  That should tenderize them pretty good. I have saved a number of briskets doing this.

    Just bought my Costco membership

Ya same here. At our Wal-Mart and GFS they have been $2.68-2.97/lb.  Most at Costco were in the 12- 15 lb  range.   I normally buy that size also, but this big one was marbled really well.

    Just bought my Costco membership

Today at our closet Costco (40 miles away)  Kirkland "Prime" packer briskets were $2.89/lb. I piked up a real nice 19 lb'er.  I forgot to check but that should put the case price at around $2.40 ish /lb.  Meat dept. guy told me that they adjust the meat prices(either up or down) on Monday's and...
