I tried to use a puck shooter we had at work a couple of times.
In my opinion, it was hard to control the temp and smoke.
Didn't care for it at all.
I'm sure with time and practice they are fine.
As JJ said you can only use their pucks....
I really enjoy my Rec tec and don't find any ash tray...
Thanks Adam! When I was a kid, we had to borrow the stuffer from a neighbor.
I was involved with my Grandfather and uncles stuffing what seemed to be miles of
venison sausage.
A friend of a friend was at an auction.
Stumbled across this:
We used this type of stuffer every year when I was a kid helping out.
He paid a whopping $2.50 for it!! The table its mounted on is worth the two bucks!
Since they had no use for the stuffer and I had no use for a wood stove I got...
The only thing I did on my 680 was add an elbow to the exhaust to draw closer to the grate.
This also helped with temp across the cc.
Never have a problem with temp swings.
I dedicated a small shop vac for cleaning out the guts of the grill.
Works really well.

I have the 18 in tube. When I use it with my Rec Tec, I have the grill up to temp.
Light the end of the tube with a torch. Get a good flame going and keep it flaming for
about 10 min. Sometimes I will have to hit it with the torch a few more times.
Then I put in in the smoker usually in the back...
