Thanks, that does help. I've seen the difference in the 300 and 700 series of the American Gourmet, but wasn't sure about the 1280 I've seen around. The mods don't look too crazy, seems like most people used some RTV silicone and some metal for a baffle. Still looking at some other smokers...
