    I ordered my element off of eBay. I also ordered my pid controller from eBay. People on here say with a single door fridge you could get by with 1500 watt element. Just take your time and search for answers to any questions you have on here.

    Looks like you got a nice fridge to work with. I am building a cold/hot smoker right now also. I made a smoke generator for mine. Check out Freezer build by Kunze7. There are pictures of it on that post. Or you can buy all different kinds of smoke generators.

    I made a little more progress on the smoker today. Smoke stack in and controller box mounted. Soon as it gets warm enough i will get the whole thing painted.

    When I make the heat shield/air gap under the burner do I need to go all the way across the bottom or just under the burner.

    Mounted the smoke generator and put a shelf for air pump today. Want to get all holes drilled into it before I paint it.. Is 8 inches between shelves enough ?

    The smoke generator is made out of aluminum. I did try it out. I will try to get a video on here. I have a controller and my electrician friend is helping me set it all up. I will have to to check into the white aluminum.
