smokin mama i would use the cast iron pot for wood chips ....lava rocks don't know never used except the one in my grill...and i took those out..so i would say no...my .02
doug what i do is i put my briskit on the rack for several hours depending on size i have a alum pan underneath it to catch all the drippings asnd then when i am ready to foil i just put the briskit in the pan with drippings and foil top let it go for several hours and then if its not too tender...
ron this cooling system.of your might be the problem...beare with me here...if your cooling system simiar to a swamp cooler then you have a constant water flow or water that stands for a period of time...the little buggers are coming from a water source and if you all have a lot of rain and...
no it doesn't taste like beer..but i goota admit that could be my number 1 sauce....if i remenber it has chunks in it like onions and garlic and some seasoning kinda heavy in it...it good just not my fav
i have had some of these sauce .. i do not think you will be disappointed....it is very good has a nice taste to....but its not my favorite bbq sauce ...mine is head country made here in oklahoma....real good...my second would probably be the budwiser ....
ron i was thinking about your problem...try this ..take some saran wrap and apply some honey or syrup on one side and then apply the
" sticky " side down on the drain or your sink and /or bathub/shower and just press down form a nice seal and go about your bussiness or bed and the next morning...

well here we are from this morning 1st pic about 2 hrs , 2n d pic about 3-4 hrs , 3rd pic about 6-7 hrs , 4th pic about 8 hrs in been spritzing with root beer .....just foiled waiting for a couple of more hours and dinner is served...
