IC. My smoker is requires between 38-39" so it'll be more than 36" but I've just been curious about that and when I saw it again today on your thread I figured I'd ask.
I'm by NO MEANS WHATSOEVER an expert but I wouldn't think you'd have to worry about cutting an inch off your stack to get the number from the calculator. Dave or one of the other experts would know for sure but I thought one of them said in my thread for my build that numbers don't have to be...
Sorry busmania, not trying to hijack your thread but this is somewhat related. I noticed while calculating for my smoker build, and agin on your picture that it says 36" +/-. Does that just mean it needs to be at least 36" above the CC? Even if the calculator calls for less? Just curious.
Perfect!!! thanks for the response. I've gotta work Saturday so hopefully I'm around to get some pictures to post (Not like you guys haven't seen a 250 gallon smoker build before) but the plan is to cut this thing open this weekend and burn her out real good.
Cutting the doors out this weekend. We have them marked where we think they should be but before we open it up I was just curious if there was an "optimal" location for the top cut of the door. I believe now we have it located roughly three inches down from 12 o'clock. I've just been looking at...
sorry everyone, quick question that's not related to this build but I've only used small charcoal and electric smokers. I keep seeing people talking about seasoned wood. What exactly is this and what exactly is the process of seasoning wood. I know it doesn't mean sprinkling some McCormicks...
Yeah I know summers are always rough on him. More so with every year. I'll post more pics as soon as we get the pieces back and begin assembling the FB and cutting the tank.
Yeah it's turning into a family project which is pretty cool. I've done most of the math/planning/research and my brother and I are splitting $$$. He will do a good portion of fab cause I'm not real handy with a plasma cutter or welder. And we're just going to tack everything then our dad that...
Yeah I cant get the stupid pics to load. Yeah we scored big time on the laser cut. My brother is a teacher and he's done with school next week so this project should come along much quicker once he's out of school.
Hopefully these pictures load right. Getting 5x10x1/4 laser cut hopefully by the weekend so we can assemble the firebox. Then we've got to make some decisions on the trailer. Them time to open the tank up
