Thank you for the kind words! I definitely fall into the 'tinker' category. I have done everything from rebuilding engines to adding rooms onto the house and enjoy it all. I will definitely let you know how the cheese comes out. I'm excited to give it a try.
I will definitely get more...
This has been a very busy week, but I did get to play a bit. The first thing I did was load up a full row of pellets into the AMNPS and load it in the mailbox. I wanted to confirm that my problem still existed....it did. I tried heating the chimney with a torch. This worked really well at...
Thank you all for the help! I really appreciate it! I will put your advice into practice and report back with how it went. Unfortunately I won't be able to play until Sunday
That makes sense, but am I correct in thinking you don't want to achieve a heavy smoke in your cooker by keeping the smoke from escaping because then it will go stale and condense on the food? If you want dense smoke you have to generate a lot of smoke, not keep the smoke around a long time...
I read that it takes a while to mellow, but WOW, I wouldn't have thought that COULD mellow. I might as well have sucked on a used charcoal briquette! I completely skipped the letting it age for a couple of days before vacuum packaging it. I assume that lets some of the harsher stuff flash off...
I have a 30" analog MES with the mailbox mod and a AMNPS. I get wonderful thin blue smoke for hot smokes and the meat turns out absolutely amazing. I'm still dumbfounded by the results I'm getting. I mean, I'm a complete smoking noob but I am turning out meat better than anything I've had at...
You
I'm sorry to say that the ingredients won't be very good anymore, but the plastic parts like the mini keg will still be good. Malt extract doesn't age very gracefully, and even the dry yeast is past its prime at this point. So many Mr Beer kits are given as presents, I'm guessing quite a...
Indeed! Just like any hobby you can go simple or go head over heels down the rabbit hole! The two hobbies go very well together since they take about the same amount of time and are both usually done outside. It is definitely an interesting hobby, and they can even cross over if you like...
Hello everyone! I've been prowling the forums for a few weeks now and finally decided to join. I have one of the cheapest smokers you can buy, a Masterbuilt 30" analog electric. I have been fighting with it for months. I couldn't get smoke from it unless I was cooking hotter than I wanted...
Thank you for this great mod, it saved my MES! I have a 30" analog that I bought on closeout for $95. I thought I got a good deal at the time but then I knew nothing about smoking. After a lot of frustration I turned to the forums and discovered the AMNPS. It produced thin blue smoke when...
