Wrights is a good brand. If I don't have homemade. Then I'll buy from a Mennonite store in Seneca Falls. I don't recall the brand. But it is deeply smoked. And amazing. Price isn't bad either.
Pickling cukes are seasonal. At least up this way. If I can find normal garden cukes as small as possible. Then I'll use them. Not English though. Boston, national, and kirby's are my favorites. Sometimes Wegmans will have some Kirby's. And I'll grab what the have. Walmart sometimes have fresh...
No. Not pickling cukes. I'll buy them over the winter to cure the itch. If you get them. Make sure you get the firmest you can find. Trim the ends. And soak in ice water for a hour before pickling. And you'll need pickle crisp for these. Trust me.
