250lbs of meat doesn't make a dent inside this things. I will get with you in the next couple of days to discuss some ideas I have for it. Sorry i didn't get a pic of the deflector shield/water tray boiling away.
Finally had a day off and helped the restaurant, showing them how it is done. Pulled pork, beef/pork ribs. Everything turned out great. Started the fire at mid day and was working my way through a big box of meat prepping the beef ribs when I discovered they had a huge pork shoulder hidden in...
Well I threw some fire in it today and burnt about 50 kg of Oak. Temp outside was 30c (85-90F) With in 15 mins most of the pit was up to temp. (used a weed burner and a small bag of lump charcoal to start it. Pretty much clear to a little blue smoke out the stack the whole time. Temp...
I put the sheet metal on the front for the wood box yesterday. While I was working on that I thought up a devious plan to mount a gigantic parrilla 3 meters x 900 mm under the center part of the chassis. It would slide out the back side of the smoker. I could use a 500 mm cylinder same as...
For 30" (762mm) tanks I cut mine 150mm down from 12 o'clock and 50 mm down from 3 o'clock. I run 3 racks on mine as we are no where near vegetarians around here :)
think about flippin it upside down so you don't have to fill the valves in.There should be only 1 to fill in the bottom. You can cut the feet off it and reuse them. Make sure the seam weld is on the back side and not halfway through your door. check out my article how to cut a tank.
Sweating my nads for 12 hours in the sun and in 100F (37c)+ heat. Made progress installing the sheet metal between the tank and chassis, continued painting today (6 liters of black, hi heat and anti oxido). received some of the sheet metal for the wood box so should make progress tomorrow on...
It's a grey area in Argentina. $20 and you can buy a registration plate of the internet. Just give them your vehicle licence plate and they make a new one with 101 in front of your licence number. If you are going on a long drive always good to have some $$ in your pocket of the cops stop...
I don't think so. 3 of them put the tapered wheel nuts on backwards when I was showing them how to assemble an axle. I am like: WTF!! You have never changed the wheel on a car? " No, I ride a motorbike" was the reply.
I had to collect this little pit at 6am this morning and deliver it to a happy customer. I ended up completely black by the tie I painted most of the Big pit and chassis. couldn't get it finished before a storm hit this afternoon. The sheet metal shop still had not finished bending the firebox...
it's pretty hard to tell much from the video. Post some good pics of the firebox. Smoke won't get stuck as it is dynamic. Always run your exhaust wide open for a clean burning fire.
I mounted the stacks for the rear smoker. Trying to make it look like horns. Sorry for the crap pics, my phone camera sucks. Removed the crappy wood box they made.
Tomorrow I will drag it outside and biff some paint on it. Then I can start the sheet metal once the chassis and under carriage...
