I smoked 12 turkeys for an outreach today. Just thought I would share the Qview.
It was fun and the turkeys came out juicy and succulent with a fine smokey flavor.
Hey I know what you mean JW. I had to get inside to weld mine. And I built it on the tank. The bottom is 3/8" plate so it is HEAVY.
The trick is to make it look simple like you belong in there ha ha
We have the same problem here. I searched for over a year before finding a 300 gal. for $250 and figured it was a good deal considering my location. Other areas of the country have better deals but you have to go with where you live. Personally I wish I could find a 500 gal for half way...
Excellent At this rate you're going to be ready to smoke in no time. and developing skills at the same time! and a father son thing to boot. Keep us informed. These are the best kind of builds

My point is I'm starting on another smoker and found a tandem axle trailer on Craig's list for $150. Just about any trailer will surpass HBs...
Very nice!
I especially like the gas shocks on the doors. And of course the giant size.
I built a 4 x 8 grill out of 10 Ga. Your 3/16th should really last.
Your smoking rig is coming along nicely.
I did similar umbrella and light stands. I learned the hard way, you need the thumb screws to hold down the umbrella.
I added hold downs later after the wind blew a new umbrella into the firebox and melted one end.
I don't think the light stand needs...
