Using a bullet type smoker, propane camp stove and smoke box to make a cold smoker?

I have a bullet type smoker as seen in the pic below, it doesn't seal up like the WSM, rather it has drop in pans for the charcoal and water/sand/lava rocks etc. I also have a wood chip box as seen below (i find it extends the life of my wood chips for smoking with charcoal).  What I was...

Using a "smoking box" with a charcoal smoker

After the smoke the chips are charcoal and I toss them in the next smoke.

Beer can or upside down chicken?

The vertical rotisserie has heat coming from the sides and I find the bird is very juicy through out. I'll have to get a few temp probes and put them at different levels in the smoker to see what is going on better

Beer can or upside down chicken?

So I did it with the beer can, used about 1/4 can of dr pepper as I usually don't drink beer and it seems in my area juice is only sold in bottles and not cans... had wanted to use a mango juice.  Came out with a nice smokey flavour that wasn't overpowering, the meat was juicy and the skin was...

Beer can or upside down chicken?

I have a franklen chef "vertisserie" instead of rotating horizontal it rotates on a vertical axis.  The idea is the juices from the fattier parts of the bird (legs and thighs) drain down into the breast making the entire bird juicy. I'm thinking of using the stand from it with the smoker.  I...

Using a "smoking box" with a charcoal smoker

When I first bought my charcoal smoker (Master Chef Vertical Smoker) http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/masterchef-vertical-smoker-0851013p.html#.VSsBzkI6nKk I picked up wood chips instead of wood chunks not realizing that in the charcoal they would burn up quickly. Local store had a Wood Chip...

    First, I need a smoker!

oh you definitely get what you pay for, but to get your feet wet those $60 smokers are awesome.  the in-laws went all out and got a big green egg which has the ceramics to hold heat for longer cooks and stabler temps but they can run 10 times the price.  I'm hoping theres smoked turkey this...

    First, I need a smoker!

I have a cheap $60 stamped steel vertical smoker, I love it. Once i figured out how to go with the minion method I was rocking.  it will do 4 full racks of ribs.  it won't cold smoke though.  great for beginners while you figure things out. if i start doing larger batches I'll look at...
