    Warming Cabinet?

Stash the meats in the cabinet after they're cooked to keep them warm. Do not place your meats in the cabinet prior to cooking; you will run the risk of having your meat in the danger zone too long.

Trailer for my 500 gallon smoker

SMH... Sorely disappointed. Sure it burns, but can it cook? Just kidding, git-r-done and get us some Q-view!

    Need some opinions on cc

I would orient the tank so that I could use one of the ports for a grease drain, and just leave the other ones plugged as they are. Whether you cut them out and patch the holes is a cosmetic decision based on you personal preference.

Hope you didn't let that fire go to waste. What did you cook?

My First RF build, wish me luck.

As long as the side rails of the frame are strong enough, you should not need the "H" frame. Seems all it is doing is raising the deck height.

    starting my reverse flow

Most people put the hinge axis above the door gap, but only because it has to go somewhere and that spot is as good as any. You can put the hinge axis in other locations, just do the math and make sure everything clears when you open it. Strap material is usually 1.5" to 2" wide. Most people...

Looks like a fine smoker kit to me.

I have no idea of the meaning of what you just said. Can you attach some pics to explain what you did and what you want to know?

    Building my 1st RF Smoker

Make sure all the propane is removed from the tank.   Fill with water and add half a cup of dish soap and let soak for a week. Rinse out twice by draining, filling , draining, filling again then drain again. Cut as you please.

Mini Vertical Reverse Smoker Build Questions

Ideally you would have a second coal basket that you can fill and light and just pull out the spent one and put in the fresh one. With just one coal basket, you should pull it out, shake off the ash, put in fresh charcoal and add in lit coals to get it started and put it back in the smoker.

Mini Vertical Reverse Smoker Build Questions

That is a pretty small smoker, and being fully insulated your burn rate should be pretty low. I think your charcoal basket may be big enough. You can always refuel mid-cook if it turns out to be too small. As for the exhaust, I would not recommend making it smaller, even if it is inside the...

    500 gal. smoker/pig cooker question

Having a hard time visualizing what you are trying to do.  Can you draw it out and post a pic of the drawing? It is also better to post your pics directly in your post http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/125263/how-to-upload-a-photo-q-view-to-your-post:

Wow, you weren't kidding about that being a heavy duty trailer. With all the stuff you will be putting on it, I think the tandem axles will serve you well.

    thickness steel

I would not recommend doubling up on the 3/16. A fair amount of the cooking heat is radiated up from the RF plate. Going with 3/8 (doubling up the 3/16) will reduce the radiated heat and also take longer for the cooker temp to stabilize. Most RFs have a hot spot near the firebox. The added heat...

    thickness steel

The 1/4 will not be 100% better. Go with the free 3/16.

    Is it REALLY necessary??

I agree with not insulating the bottom of the FB, but insulating the door gives the same benefit as insulating any other side of the FB. That said, if you are not insulating the door, the thicker metal will lose less heat.

My First RF build, wish me luck.

Might want to hold off on moving the axle. You should have 10% to 15% of the trailers weight on the tongue. Figure out how much your smoker is going to weigh and where on the trailer you are going to place it to calculate where the axle needs to be for minimum 10% tongue weight. This is not an...

    120 Gallon - Rectangle

Hello Mikes79Bronco and welcome to the forums, Design looks good overall... I would suggest not having the racks extend all the way to the far wall over the gap at the end of the RF plate. Any food placed there will drip grease down into the bottom of the CC and could run back into the FB and...
