    Tomorrow (Saturday 11-13-09) I'm smoking my first turkey. Had great success with whole chickens and now need advice on doings turkey. I have a Electric ECB and plan to run it at 250-275F. How long should I plan for a 12 pound bird?

    Thanks guys for all the advice. I was able to do 2 whole chickens in less than 4 1/2 hours. I'm winning my wife over on smoking meat...she complemented me on the chickens and suggested doing a turkey!

    Smoke time for more than 1 whole chicken

    I'm relatively new to smoking and have committed to smoking a couple chickens tomorrow for the wife. I'm using a Electric-ECB and plan to run about 250F. In the past it took about 4 hours maybe 5 for one whole chicken. So how long should I plan for TWO that are cut in half (brest to back)?
