    Hunting And Fishing Thread!?!

I have heard good things about the 6.5 but I went 6mm arc, finally got everything together and it's a great shooter, love the AR platform for kids, bought 1 many moons ago to teach the grandkids to shoot high power, grandson has taken several deer with it and the granddaughter dosent hunt but...

Best type of smoker for jerky/charcuterie?

Lot of folks will argue a fence post about known temps and fat out due to it, I give up trying to explain that you can't beat a electric smoker for some food groups lol

Camp chief xt or pit boss 850 pro series ll

The only way a person can tell you about customer service is if you have a problem very few folks call them up to pass the time of day. had a rack cracked on my PB, not a problem shipped me another 1.

    Looking For New Smoker

I think I am on year 7 with my Austin XL, no problems yet, they make a similar unit with a bigger diameter barrel, might be better for larger/more items. have been pleased with mine and would buy again if it came with a Pid board

For you pellet heads, wood chips mixed with pellets???

Both are made of wood and both have been heat treated, probably not much difference in the smoke profile

My first go round with my new Pitboss vertical pellet pooper

Wife can't take the heavy smoke these days so the pellet smoker gets used more these days. I add a tube with pellets and hickory bark in it.

    Couple of Turkey questions....

I run my pitboss as low as it will go for a hour-90 minutes , I like to smoke for said time pull and put in a cooking bag and throw in the oven at normal temps till done. Birds take smoke pretty easy

    Venison and CWD

How many folks have a autopsy to ck for CWD? very dang few would be my guess, they would say he was old and it was his time ect. It's better that folks know and can make their own choices about eating them preferably before they shoot them. I wont eat 1 that I know has it. I will be setting on...

Want a new gas grill, recommendations?

My older spirit gets plenty hot but I had to add stainless grate and replaced the burners and covers, the next step up is a big upgrade imo. Pay for the upgrade up front instead of regrets later, they redesigned the burner covers ect which somebody mentioned already,

    Medication Savings

Quit smoking in early 2000, didn't mention to the agent till 10 years latter that I had quit, he took a swab of my mouth and rates dropped pretty good. Would have saved a lot had I made it known a lot sooner. GoodRX is what the wife uses to help save$$

Camp Chef Woodwind Pro vs. Masterbuilt Gravity XT

2 totally different style cookers, I wouldn't give a nickel for a sear box, its a gas grill with another name, think the MB has stepped up with a new improved model.
