More lucky i think....well semi luck, the top of the pot works perfect for the grill and lid, but it tapers in at the bottom so it is too small to sit nicely on the base...pics below
As mentioned above the pot is too small on the bottom to sit on the base nicely...but easy fix...the pot lid...
My wife asked me to pick up a few things at the hardware store for the house...big mistake on her part,
I found a little 14ish" portable grill on sale for cheap cheap, it looked like i could make something out of it so had to pick it up...walking around the store i also found a stock pot on...
Thanks for the feedback guys, it was a fun project, but now i have two problems......
1.) use it for at least two weeks busy with work and holidays coming up
2.) i want to build another one
Done and done! finishing painting it up this weekend! I still might make a removable chimney extension so i can play around with different lengths to see how it effects flow.
Other then that, very happy with the final product

Made a great dinner tonight, got the from Mrs. Ledhead, That’s the best compliment I could have got since she isn’t too big on beef. She was questioning the whole process of having "meat on the bbq for half a day"....and the need to spend 6 months building...
