    bottom collar, two dollar

interesting, I like where you are going with this. I had a slightly different thought. Get a piece of stainless heater duct about 10 inches wide and set it into the charcoal pan.  Here is a pic of what I am thinking about. I am also thinking about removing the legs altogether and sitting the...

New to Group, Going to Mod My Ancient ECB

LMAO. GM, You said stove gasket tape? If that's the flat stuff, I'm not sure if that will work.  The round stove gasket goes on the lid. I put mine on with the high heat RTV and then put the lid onto the smoker and made sure the gasket was tight against the body of the smoker. Doing this should...

    Starting the Smokehouse

Sorry to hear that. Post a pic of what bowed if you can? I'm in the Northeast so I am thinking the unfaced insulation and backer board might be a good option. That would allow more exterior options for sure.

    General Smokehouse Questions

Thanks DS, I will be sure to document the build for sure. I have to try and win over the other half on my idea. But I have a part of the yard that sees little use and I can get away with building it there. I might need to change my landscaping a bit, but I will include plenty of pics.

ECB Mods? Anyone trying anything new?

Hey TBD, isn't it amazing what we will do for some BBQ! Challenging conditions for sure, great job! Good smoke penetration into the PP. Hard to get a good bark in a slow cooker at the end, but you gotta do what you gotta do,  Nice job!
