    Homebrewers Roll-Call

Glad to find this thread.  I've been brewing for about 10 years.  I do extract with specialty grains.  I don't do all that many batches a year, usually 3 or 4. I like to take my brews with me camping and kegs don't really do well for in the camper.   My favorite is Belgian Wit.

    Dutch's Mini WSM Build

Thanks for the tips.  I'll keep them in mind. I'm likely going to have to wait a bit to build a mini.  My wife is always looking for things to get me for Christmas, these parts are likely going to be on that list.  Unless I just can't wait.

    Dutch's Mini WSM Build

Wow, that butt looks awesome.  Care to share some tips with a newbie on holding that perfect temp?  I plan on building one of these but I'm really new to smoking so need some tips.  I'm reading through the 5 day course messages.

    My Mini WSM build

Looks great.  I'm reading as many of the mini build threads as I can.   So, what's the deal with the charcoal basket?  I see some people do a basket and others that skip it.  Is it mainly a personal preference thing?  Or does it do better for some types of smoking?

Paint job for the Mini (not a college footbll logo)

That looks awesome.   I'm leaning towards building a mini WSM.  I guess I need to think about paint at some point.  I'm guessing you just masked off the design and sprayed it?

    Beginner Smoker...

I don't know if you get the Food Network over in Europe, but there's a show called Good Eats.  The host, Alton Brown, made a smoker out of a cardboard box, a hot plate and some miscellaneous items.  Here's a guide on Instructables on making one of these cardboard box smokers.  He claims it was...

    Hello from MD

Thanks for the welcome.  I'll be sure to post some pics when I finally get around to getting started.  I'm still looking into what type of smoker to get. For the other MDers, I'm up near Bel Air.

    Hello from MD

I'm Greg and I'm located in Maryland, USA. I've been interested in smoking for quite a while.  I just haven't gotten around to getting a smoker and giving it a shot.  I've done some reading and am now ready to take the plunge and get a smoker.  I'll be reading the forums quite a bit and will...
