Congrats on the new Rec Tec Michael! It's been several years ago, but I used to own one of the original RT 680s. They're nice grills! Very well built and easy to use. I'm pretty sure one of my sons owns that Flagship 1100 model, and he loves it!
Looking forward to seeing some cook threads...
Happy Thursday SMF Friends!
If you saw a previous thread, you know I decided to downsize a little, and sell my big gravity fed cabinet smoker in favor of a Hasty Bake Smoker/Grill/Oven. Well the new pit arrived today!
It's a Hasty Bake Legacy 131. For those unfamiliar, Hasty Bake is the...
Hello Nefarious! I appreciate Jim referring me to your question, and I'll help any way I can...but really I'm just an amateur with a few builds under my belt...so I'm certainly not professional lol!
So my experience is, it's not a problem to make the FB larger than the calculators call for...
Yeah, I scratched my head for weeks trying to design something I thought would work (never got there lol). Finally realized I'd be better off just buying the darn thing!

Thanks buddy! Yep - that adjustable grate system is why I'm buying this cooker instead of just trying to build something similar. I spent many weeks trying to reverse engineer something similar on paper that I could build myself...turned out to be more complicated and expensive than just...
Thanks Mike! LOL yeah, it wasn't a random number. When I decided to pull the trigger on the Hasty Bake, my thought was that a "break-even" price on the Limo Jr. was a reasonable asking price.
And I forgot about the signature, but yeah...I'll be changing that!
I'm like you - when I bought...
I was surprised how fast it went! I guess I shoulda listed it for more lol!
Yeah I think the fella is getting a great cooker...I take pretty good care of my pits. Always garage stored, and I keep 'em maintained.
I ordered a new Hasty Bake Legacy 131. Been wanting one for a long time...just...
Thanks buddy! It must be a pretty good deal...
Because It's already SOLD!!
It's been a good one for sure! I have really enjoyed cooking on it, but it's just too big for a guy who only cooks for two.

I am selling my insulated gravity fed cabinet smoker. I just bought a new pit, so this one has to go to make room for the new one in my garage.
It is a Southern Q Limo Jr. gravity fed charcoal smoker, which I purchased new in 2019. It has 4 slide-out cooking racks, each measuring 19"x24"...
Steady progress being made Danny! I can relate to the frustration with how slow it's going for sure. The slow, tedious stuff like running a grinder for hours doesn't produce much visible progress, but just one of those steps that make a nice finished product.
That hose reel will definitely be...
That's what I suspected. Many times, those "specialty" bags are just gimmicks...but definitely a novelty.
Thanks Buddy! They were a lot of fun to watch and root for. They've been a very unselfish group who really played well together.

You're making good progress, Danny - Looking good! Most of the "big stuff" is behind you, and now it's on to the tedious, small jobs that seem to take the longest on most builds...doors, hinges, grates and rails, exhaust stack, drains, etc...
Your detailed explanation of your baffle design...
Looking good Danny! I really like the look you achieved with grinding the outside corners on that collector. I always grind every outside corner too. That's some slow, painstaking, and dirty work!
And I've heard lots of pro welders disparage that practice, but we're not fabricating a nuclear...
LOL afraid I can't add anything exciting to the thread either. Just a chill, quite weekend for me. Our grown sons have kids of their own who they're spending the day with (I expect I'll get happy father's day phone calls). The wife leaves tomorrow to go to her sister's - there's some big...
