Can you fit an actual 10 lbs into the waltons? I wish LEM made a 12# that would fit 10# into it. That is the main thing I dislike about the 5# is you can only fit about 4 into it and I make 5 # batches.
fyi, that Therm Pro is not a Thermoworks product. Have to be careful on how things are named. Fireboard is another manufacturer that makes quality therms.
I am looking to upgrade my stuffer. I currently have a LEM 5# Mighty Bite. I dont make sausage a whole lot but am hoping to do it more often. I primarily do 20# of snack stix a couple times a year (multiple flavors broke into 5# batches), breakfast sausage into bulk bags and brats/sausages in...
I wish you luck. They offered me a discount on buying a new one when mine gave up just over a year old and only used about 4 times. It was a battery issue with mine. I decided to not waste anymore money on something they wont back up and go another route. I didnt like it either due to...
Amazing sights. I got nothing like that in my sky but have a great lake view and my fire pit with a glass of found north batch 9 whiskey i happened across today. That is the stuff i miss abt CO.
Great looking cheese.
I just happened to have bought five pounds of cabbot last weekend and was planning on cold smoking for turkey day visitors. I have never done it before and had a cpl questions.

My wife is supposed to fly into orlando Thursday late afternoon for the spreading of her moms ashes and close her estate. 4 hour drive to kc airport. Wonder if it will be open to commercial fights by then. Wish everyone in the path a safe exit.
Parents got us a pizza kit for my wifes an I birthday since they are only five days apart. There are four of us so made four 12” pizzas. Fired up the yoder, took out the diffuser plate and added two pizza stones. Let heat up while wife made the pizzas. Turned out great.
What is wrong with just using one brand? I have only been using lumberjack and they have many flavor combinations and make a great pellet in my opinion. They arent sold in my area so I stock up when I travel.
I also use a pellet tube on every smoke. I dont think I will be following your advice...
I smoked two 20 lb turkeys last Thanksgiving on my Yoder 640s. I did not have any issues bringing up to temp in time or space. It is 1070 sq in. I wouldnt smoke them at 225° but if it can get to 300° you won't have any issues.
Use small sticks. Think soda can diameter. Helps to warm the stick on top of firebox or next to coal bed. Could also take to extreme and use a burn barrel and shovel coals to the smoker.
I am loaded with apple and oak right now. Have three hickory trees will be cutting down next week. If anyone in SW MO needs some hickory just let me know.
I just tapped a pilsner a cpl weeks ago that i brewed back in feb and have been lagering. Nephews drank mostof it during a visit. Usually be sipping a whiskey or bourbon most weekends. Latest is Horse Soldier single barrel which is very enjoyable, Art of the Spirit double oaked, and Mary Jane...
I was just in kc last week. You could have taken me out to dinner. Only had bbq one night at jack stack. Previous trip went to q39 and the brisket plate portion wasnt any bigger.
