Surprisingly enough, my daughter loved it! She is really picky, so I was surprised she enjoyed it! She told me it tasted just like pizza...I've eaten quite a few pizzas in my day (you can tell by my pic) and it didn't taste nuthing like any pizza I have ever ate
She normally helps with all my...
Starting temp was -5C (20F)
I turned my fire grate 90 degrees. Now I get lots of air to the coals, and my fire is a little closer to the smoke chamber. Hopefully this sorts out my lack of heat issue.
Partway through. I put a couple of containers with apple juice and water beside the...
Temps are going to be 7 - 10C today. (46 - 50F for all you Southern Folk :)
Skys are clear, wind is low to neglibile.

It's a good day to smoke a fatty.
I know it is going to be kind of "vanilla" compared to some of the others I've seen here, but man oh man I can't wait to get this thing into the smoke!
I'll be firing up tomorrow, and will put some "after" pics up tomorrow night.

OK. So I thought I would just dive head first into this whole "Smoking Lifestyle". After only having run a few batches through my Char Broil, I thought I would give a Fatty a try.
My daughter and I put this little number together tonite, and will be smoking it over the weekend.
LOL
Knowing my Missus, she would likely take a moment to pause and collect her thoughts, then point out the fact that I had missed a spot with the aluminium tape.
All this would be accomplished while she magically swiped my credit card out of my wallet
I smoked a batch of moose sausage this weekend and used the tenderquik as I couldn't find the prague powder anywhere! (Any fellow Canucks give me some directions where to get this stuff in North Central Alberta???)
I did find it to be a little too salty. Bearable, but I will definitely begin...
Thanks guys. I ran a smoke yesterday with the Char Broil, and even at just below freezing, it couldn't keep the temp up.
I think I'm going to get into the GOSM, and I'm going to run travcoman's long john's idea. I can't wait to have the following conversation with my wife:
She: What are you...
I have run a few smokes through my Char broil, and I'm less than impressed with it. Making trips out to check the fire every 15 minutes ain't doing it for me. As well as the unit seems incapable of keeping up with -25C temps. And since the majority of my year is spent below freezing, my rig...
The Stampede is fantastic Alx! Way back, a long long time ago (I believe it was the early '70s), my grandparents took me there from Ontario. While there, they won some kind of lottery, and were awarded a bag full of Silver Dollars. Literally...they still have the bag they came in! And we got to...
We just started our indoor herb garden last night. This morning we woke up to another foot of fresh powder, and it's been snowing steady all day. I can't wait for April.
When I was in high school I found a '63 Triumph Tiger in pieces in a barn on a farm I was working at. I bought it for a week's pay (about $300 then) and rebuilt it in the school's auto shop. It had a springer front end over twisted stock forks, a 4" rake, and hardtail frame. I painted it a...
