    First attempt at ribs tomorrow

I took two ribs out the box which will have to be trimmed to fit on my Proq. The other 2 had to go in the Freezer at the rugby club as they wouldn't fit in mine. The box of frozen collars for about £26 looked a good buy as well. Toby from BBBQS has used them and said they were good for pulled...

    First attempt at ribs tomorrow

I've just bought a box of Bookers meaty ribs and going to try smoking some tomorrow.  The racks are massive and came 4 to a 10kg box. Will rub later tonight.  I also bought some heat beads from The Range to try and I'm also hoping to pick up a couple of whisky barrel lids today (fingers crossed)...

Pickled Onion Monster Munch always seem to go down well with a few people I know. And them ATB's, I could probably make myself sick on them.   I wish I could have been able to attend, sounds great.

    MES tripping GFCI

Element in my opinioin. Not that i've seen your smoker but I've repaired loads of kettles and cookers where the element looks fine but not and is shorted out. Can you unplug the element  (make sure its safe) and then see what happens when it attempts to switch it on.?

My BBQ Next Month - Help

The only problem with cooking the pork the day before that I can see is me constantly troffing at it   My mother used to say my eyes were bigger than my belly. To bad she's not around now for me to prove her wrong... Anyway, Plan is to leave the pork whole, slice the next morning and warm in...

    Roll Call

33lb in wieght. 5 blokes stood and stared for 6 hours, beers in hand.   Rotisserie was home made using a 2rpm kebab machine motor from ebay turning a stainess spit which ran on bearings. Worked a treat but would have been better with a counter balance.

My BBQ Next Month - Help

Keep talking like that.   I had bbqs for about 20 -30 people before and managed with a 'just keep it coming' cooking.' style. I've regularly cooked for up to 15 people with other foods. (I always make too much. My portion control leaves a lot to be desired) The smokers obviously new but I...

My BBQ Next Month - Help

I thought I'd go for an easy sauce and found this as a starter to have a bit play with. (love the site name) http://bellyrumbles.com/easy-chilli-plum-sauce-recipe/ If my tree's anything like previous year, i normally get carrier bags full of plums.  And as for the cooking side of things, your...

    Roll Call

Hi Steve, Thanks for the welcome. I bought a gas tandoor a few months ago. It has a steel liner (great for naans) as it was supposed to go to France this year but didn't and I was a bit wary about transporting a clay one. I had 3 small chickens ready to go in a couple of weeks ago and it...

    Roll Call

Thank you for the kind welcome. I should have pointed out that I live in sunny Whitley Bay so yes another Northerner. Happily retired early last year and i enjoy a bit sailing.  BBQ-ed for years (although curry is probably my first love) although nothing to exciting. Best effort was a 33lb whole...
