    First Turkey Legs

Today was the first time I have smoked a large(isn) piece of meat. I had some large (~2.5 lbs) turkey legs so I had the wife brine them Thursday night.  I pulled them from the brine Friday night and put some seasoning them.  This morning I took em out of the fridge and put them on the smoker.  I...

    Turkey Price

I just looked up some stats.  Average weight of a turkey leg is 18 oz and right now the national average price per pound is $1.36.  Do some conversions and three legs should be $4.59.  So I would play $0.41 more than average price right now.  Still instead of buying the whole turkey 5 bucks...

    Turkey Price

A new meat store just opened where I am, one of the wholesalers that works with poultry plants such as Jennie O.  They have whole turkeys as well as cuts on sale for what seems to be cheap. Mainly 3 massive turkey legs for 5 bucks.  What do you guys think of that, does it sound like a good deal...

    FALL GIVEAWAY AT A-MAZE-N PRODUCTS

I love to grill.  Generally every weekend I set up the grill and invite everyone over to watch the big game.  There is always food on the table on the weekends at my house.  This year we plan (dependent on the weather) to stay up all halloween smoking a pork butt for the sunday games! It will be...

    Homemade Smoker

I have several cords of dried oak that I did not split cut down to ~6 inches in total length.  I placed them on the side of the coals for the smoke generally 2 at a time.  The bricks are just home building bricks but the coals are not in direct contact.  I have the bricks there to catch any...

    Homemade Smoker

These are all of the photos that I have at this time. We are having some bad weather so I do not want to take it out from the covering.  As for the tube smokers I have seen some at one store we have here that uses something like small hockey pucks but I did not know how I would integrate that...

    New to Smoking

Hello All, I recently built a smokehouse after wanting for many years to move away from the grill.  I insulated a large microscope shipping container and made it into two separate shipping pods.  One side for beef/fish/pork and the other will be for game birds once completed.  After I built the...
