Looking at getting a Chef's Choice Electric Sharpener. Anyone have one?

Well I finally settled on a chef's choice 1520. It is a three stage close to the model 120 but it has two angle options, 15° and 20°. Picked it up on amazon for $145. I will let you know how it works. Bigfish Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2

Looking at getting a Chef's Choice Electric Sharpener. Anyone have one?

I have been looking at an electric sharpener.  I know, there are some that will smack me for even thinking of an electric sharpener, but I have neither the patience or the skill to use any manual method.  I looked around and talked to a few people and have settled on the chef's choice electric...

Neighbor wants me to smoke her goose. I need help!

OK, I know that sounded bad, but my neighbor asked me if I could smoke a goose for her.  She bought one from a store so I am assuming it was farm raised.  I told her that I could, but then she told me all she wanted was for me to smoke it for the smoke flavor and she would cook it the rest of...

Need help sharpening my meat slicer blade

It has a button for each stone that you have to press to push them into the blade but you have to apply the pressure. So my main worry is that I am not using enough pressure or using too much pressure or too much on one side and not enough on the other. Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2

Need help sharpening my meat slicer blade

I recently purchased a 10 inch commercial meat slicer off amazon and it came with an attachment for sharpening the blade.  it is basically two wheels that are in an aluminum housing that sits on top of the unit.  The instructions are poorly written and I think I am doing more damage to the blade...

    Ground Venison Bacon Question

I don't use just one pan.  I just made some myself and used 8 x 8 square foil pans.  They came in a 3 pack and I did ten pounds.  I did use the plastic holder that came with them as it was the same as a pan so I had four 8 x 8 pans for ten pounds.  I liked using the smaller pans as I got more...

Thanks!  Not in this batch.  Wanted to make sure it turned out before I changed anything.  Will definitely be doing some Hi Temp Cheese next time!  Bigfish

    First Venison Summer Sausage

I was wondering about that.  I did put the sausage in an ice bath after the 5 min shower that the instructions called for.  They weren't lowering very quickly, but they sure did in the ice bath.  I don't have much willpower though so I had to slice some up!!  I will have to try another one...

    First Venison Summer Sausage

Hey everyone!  The wife and I both got deer during rifle season this year so we decided to try summer sausage.  We have never made it before so it was an new experience.  We ordered a kit from Curley's Sausage Kitchen.  Here are their instructions which I mostly followed except we used 50%...
