Hey. I used kaowool. Its a roll 2' wide 1" thick 25' long. Not the cheapest but its simple to handle cuts easy with a box cutter. And is rated to 2500 degrees....just in case. Ha ha. I got it online shipped from alibaba or something like that. Good luck.

Got the old chimney welded in. Welded a thin carbon plate on chimney and slid it down through roof. Riveted that plate to the exterior roof and slid another plate onto chimney pipe inside smoker and seal welded plate to chimney pipe and...
