Noob here, just got a Dyna-Glo propane smoker. Not much smoke, I've tried chunks, chips, soaking and not much smoke. The wood kinda turns to charcoal. HELP!

I think it was some hickory that I bought at Lowes. I just trimmed up an apple tree on my property and saved a bunch for smoking. Looking forward to trying that.

I'm still a noob, but I'm very pleased with the results of the 17lb turkey I just smoked. I had it in a brine for 24 hours and injected it before smoking. Nothing too fancy, but boy was it good! Very moist & tender. Took just under 9hrs running at around 230 degrees.
