Hi
I've not tried ground beef jerky. Do u think it's easier to make it taste nice?
I do currently gave a homemade contraption that I cold smoke my jerky in before I put it in the dehydrator. It seems to work ok although it could be improved. I did originally plan to add a few sensors and...
Danny your completely right. I need to buy a bbq for simple burgers, the weber original sounds good enough to start with and i do want to try smoking some meat.
When it comes to the jerky i do need help. I will come back with some questions :) i will get there!
cheers
I have been here for a whole but I've not been doing much, I got a little disheartened by my jerky making. I've just decided to try again.
Some of the meat smoking you guys do here looks pretty tasty, I might try doing a bit more than just jerky..
My only concern I guess with buying the...
Hi
I'm from the Isle of Wight. Trapped on a little island but it is nice.
Wade you have a lot of bbq's there :) the weber 57 does look like a good bbq and it looks like I can pick the premium one up for about £159ish which is perfect really. I didn't realise the kettle bbq's could do smoking...
Hi
This is just for personal use, I love jerky and plan to make it just for myself but i would like to make a fair amount each time. It will probably be just a whole regular roasting joint each time (forgive me i forget roughly how big they are)..
when barbecuing it would usually be about 5 to...
Hi guys
I'm looking to buy a new bbq smoker from amazon. Trouble is after reading all the reviews i'm unsure weather they will be much good.
There are only a few on amazon but people seem to say they are no good for smoking meat. But I dont know if they have just assembled it incorrectly or...
Hey lee, I'm just experimenting at the moment but hopefully I will crack it soon it's starting to get expensive lol
What kind of jerky do you like? There's not much on offer here in the uk. I like it hot and savoury. Not keen on the sweet stuff but my gf/wife to be likes it sweet, so I'm trying...
I shall try that one, the last soy sauce I tried was blue dragon, but I got the low salt version with the intension of adding salt. It was a lot better. I will try the dark one next time.
I will take some pictures of my DIY smoker and I'll provide some recipes too over the weekend to help give...
Hi wade
I have had quite a few attempts at it, but struggling to make something I really like. I'm not too keen on the sweet jerky I much prefer the savoury stuff. I've used beef and I've tried silverside and topside joints. The topside seems to be less fatty if you can get a good bit. But it...
Hi there
I have recently started making my own jerky and I'm looking for other people to help me out and share experiences with. Are the any uk jerky makers about? :)
Please feel free to contact me if you would like a chat
thanks everyone
I know the website I have eaten tons of the stuff. I just want to know how it's made , they have changed their recipe and now it's horrible , no warning on the packet to indicate such a massive change. So I won't be buying it any more.
Hi dave
I was just thinking that, after trying to find out how to actually use this stuff I was starting to think it was a Bad idea.
I have just brought cure 1 instead and I will use that.
I asked the place where I got it from and they said 50g per pound of meat. Sounds really really wrong...
