But, having seen seen Langs - for years...I am disappointed in their current level of quality control. When they were built by Lang himself - the quality was incredible. Fit and finish was what you should expect for the money.

I can tell you from ownership of the similar sized Cookshack units - these from Smokin' it and Smokin' Tex are absolutely as well built - maybe heavier than Cookshack.

I have just been informed that we have commitments from several vendors. They will be donating cooking equipment/accessories that we will be raffling off to help pay for the venue.

We hope that folks within a few hours of Augusta will consider this event. Expecting this to be 100 plus attendees with equipment. Small enough to personal and friendly, big enough to be worth the work!
This is a "cross-cultural" ( meaning - any kind of outdoor cooking equipment) NON-competition...Like a big backyard cookout! Bring what you use! We are a group of BBQ/smoking/grilling folks that are holding our 2nd annual Fall Gathering will be Sep 25-30 with the primary dates being Sep 29-30. ...
Understand... Well - come and hang out for a while. It is a very family oriented event with a lot of other stuff to do on the premises, and we can talk BBQ. Heck - I can even bring some of my smoked trout dip. I catch 'em, clean 'em, smoke 'em and turn 'em into dip

Well said - logical, an even scientific approach.....Well done! I cook by the philosophy of adding moisture to the meat in a number of different ways - but I do not like to use artifically wet wood. It isn't just steam - it is wet soot that collects on the meat. Not good.
