I used the Rutland 2k cement and flat ribbon fire retardant rope with good results. Have to replace it sometimes but I'm ok with that.
Also I put small toggle clamps in the firebox lid to press it down.
Use peanut oil. Soak a terry cloth an wipe down the inside. Don't soak too much, a light coating will do.
Wipe down the plate with the same oil.
As for sealant on the fire box just use 2000 degree Rutland cement. The silicone Sh!t doesn't work. It deteriorates and gets goopy.

Horizon has a wicked bad lag time on their shipping. That's the only problem with them. Other than that their products are very well made.

You can make the basket yourself. Just get some expanded steel from a hardware store. Use bolt cutters to cut it, way faster.
As for the delay; the squeaky wheel gets the oil. I called Horizon about four times and asked WTF was going on. Then I got it after 7 weeks.
