New guy with a Humphrey Long Weekender

That's what I am doing. So, so far so good. One problem I have is keeping it at a lower temp. For some reason I can't get it to stabilize at 225-250. It wants to sit at 300-310. Of course I'm going off the door thermometer. I'll have to get a base line with a rack temp. Like I said, this thing...

New guy with a Humphrey Long Weekender

Thanks Chris, Here is a picture of the inside. Before I seasoned it. The racks are roughly 14x22 and it has a water pan at the bottom, right above the fire box. Any tips, tricks, does and donts would be greatly appreciated. Bob

New guy with a Humphrey Long Weekender

Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone has a Humphrey smoker..longweekender. I've had mine for about a month now and I have a few smokes on it. But I'm wondering if I'm using this thing correctly and to it's fullest potential. I was very surprised when I spent this kind of money and didn't get any...

    Hello Wisconsin.

Doohop,  You do learn a lot from the people at the events. Everyone is really friendly and willing to teach you if you stick around and watch. Its interesting seeing the teams that are just two guys drinking beer and having a goodtime and the teams of 15 people all taking it way too serious...

My Stump Gravity Feed Clone Build

Thanks for the information. I am getting prices today on the steel. Now that you have used it a few times, would you change anything? Or do anything different when you built it? Thanks again.

My Stump Gravity Feed Clone Build

Hello all5n, I am thinking about building a smoker just like this one. I just can't justify spending over three grand for a smoker. Plus building one sounds like fun and I can say I built it. Anyway, I have a couple questions for you... How big are your cooking grates? When you had it...

    Hello Wisconsin.

Hasn't been much going on in this group. Here is a little bit about me. Live in Warrens. I have been smoking for a few years now. Started by building a smoker out of a garbage can. Now I have a MES30 and a Traeger Texas Elite. I try to smoke something every weekend. Doing a pork butt this weekend.

    Hello From Wisconsin

The wife and I were over on your side this last weekend. We went and checked out the Masters in May in Appleton. It made me start looking for a bigger grill/smoker :)

    Hello From Wisconsin

Hello all, I am a big fan of this site and have been lurking in the shadows for awhile now. Right now I own a MES30 and of course I have a gas grill, a charcoal Weber, a portable gas grill for camping. I try to smoke on the MES every weekend. Have done ribs(a lot) also a brisket. Going to try a...
