So I already put the concrete in before I saw nitis post. I have contoured the concrete so it drains to the center to double as a drip pan The angle iron will hold the racks when I get them cut.

I looked at the Amazen products last night and I think I'll get the 10 hour one. That gives me the flexibility of using up to ten hours or maybe less than that if I choose. I'm gonna finally do some work to the smoker today. I'm gonna try to get some shelves in it and hopefully put a 2 or 3...

Hmmmmm.... That gets me thinking... I wonder what the dimensions of the tube smoker are? I have a stainless box with a door that may make a good housing for the amazen smoker.. Said box is in this picture. It is no longer attached to the door.

The 2500w is just for the the oven elements. If you add the eyes it'll be closer to 6000w. Which is more reason for me to put the eyes in it along with the oven elements... At least I think that's a good idea.. I'm liking the idea of cast iron for the smoke tray, but what I'm really wanting is...

Okay you'll have to spell it out for me... AMNPS? Also, nor sure of the exact wattage but I think most ovens are around 2500w

    Converting Grill to Hybrid

In the old one I like, the fire box is in the far right door. I used the calculator for building smokers, but I made the fire box way too big.. The fire box is supposed to be about one third the size of the cc, but instead I made it one third the size of the entire tank.. Which makes it half the...

First electric smoker build, need help!

Y'all have eased my mind on the drip pan.. Maybe it's not as big of a danger as I thought.. I definitely do want a true set and forget setup. The only reason I was considering using the stove eyes with the oven elements would be because I'm afraid the oven elements won't heat it up fast enough...

I'm also considering using the stove eyes to heat the inside as well as the oven elements... Any suggestions?

Lots of good ideas guys! I am planning to insulate the outside and maybe cover it with wood. Where are good places to get high temp insulation? I'm still a tad confused on the drip pan.. I want to make sure the pan doesn't get hot enough to cause the grease to smoke/burn. Let me elaborate on...

    first electric smoker build

Thanks for the info guys! I am not familiar with the AMAZN smoke products... I will be looking into that. A little more info about what I intend to use this smoker for. I cater bbq quite a bit (100-150 lbs of meat every weekend in summer) and I want this to work so that I can load it up and go...
