She's not strict about the lacto-ovo-vegetarian stuff. In other words, milk, cheese, eggs, etc are fine. The wife's finding out about fish/shellfish.
I was thinking stuffed bell peppers because, like the meat, I can prep it ahead and put it on for an hour or so when it's close to eating time...
Is anyone here "big time" enough to be invited to the Nugget Best in the West rib cook-off in Sparks, Nevada over Labor Day? That's local for me, and while I'll probably go anyway, it would be neat to see a SMF member there!
My good friend is turning 30 this weekend and we're throwing her a surprise party. I got the OK from the wife to do some BBQ (she's preggo and the smoke makes her nauseous, so I need permission ). The trick is that the friend who's turning 30 is a vegetarian, and noone else is. I'm going to...
I had a good time this weekend making some homemade sauce in preparation for next weekend, when we'll be having ~20 people over for some 7/4 BBQ. I've only made sauce once before, never really found a recipe, and have a decent foundation in cooking so I decided to make it up as I went along...

It varies by type of paint and solvent, but in general burning (or attempting to burn) paint is one of the best way to release the worst chemicals and fumes possible into the air.
I would strongly advise against it, as someone who used to work in the paint industry.
Looking through the sticky UDS thread, there's this:

link to the "Big Baby" smoker.
I've done the research and found some parts, pretty much all of them by Vogelzang. I'm not 100% sure I'm seeing things right though.
If you choose a...
Actually, the silver smoker is the one I specifically heard was being made with thinner/cheaper metal now. I read consumer reviews on several retailer sites, and that was the #1 complaint. It could be one or two people 'review bombing' the product, but I just don't know.
Hey everyone. I'm new here. Just bought my first house in northern Nevada, so I finally have a backyard in which to grill and BBQ. I know a decent amount about BBQ, smoking, and cooking in general and have some pretty tasty recipes (BBQ and not).
I don't currently have a "set-up". All of...
