    Look up bbq with franklin. He builds a pit and shows how he lays out his doors. I made the doors 22” tall which made my cut ~11” from the top center.

    Well smoker number 2 is in the final stages. Just a few minors things to finish thermometers, stack cap and badging. All in all though the smoker turned out great. Now I just need to get it seasoned and ready for it's first cook.

On this past cook I kept my damper closed quite a bit and it did great held temps really well once you add meat on there it is amazing how much different it performs. I would suggest...

    Thanks yes it does haha. I have been meaning to ask you. Have you filled your smoker full yet? I did a cook a few weeks ago and the smoker was full but regulating the heat from end to end was difficult. I'm talking 100 degree difference yet when I did an empty test it was more like 20 degrees...

    Big day yesterday. I got the smoker set on the trailer. I went ahead and set the twin on there to balance out the trailer. Man it looks good. Now for paint.

    I got the trailer primed and painted my favorite color (John Deere Green) next I have to put the decking down and then I can set the first smoker on it. Just in time first it's first location cook at my churches picnic June 10.

    Nice I found your post about insulating the Firefox. Your smoker looks awesome. I wondered about insulating mine but a few extra logs on the fire is the cheaper option for me at this point. Have you read franklins book? It is really good and if I remember correctly he talks about his reasoning...
