    Presto Logs?

Yeah i know exactly what you mean. The logs i currently have claim to be 100% natural with no binders and no starter fluid. I believe the starter fluid part cause they are a PAIN to start! But no 100% guarantee on the binder. I actually sold these logs at my last job and had classes on them from...

    Presto Logs?

Has anyone ever thought of or tried using presto logs, or any other type of compressed logs instead of charcoal on a sfb? The company claims there is no glues or binders in them just "natural hardwood"? Not sure if i believe them but i think i'm going to try some out and see how they work....

    first smoker build

yeah its a reverse flow.  i've fired it a few times now and because of the design of the elbow between the firebox and cook chamber, not enough heat is able to be transferred.  it seems to be almost perfect as long as all i want to do is cold smoke but thats not what i would like to do.  part of...

    first smoker build

well my plan is to find right around a 22" diameter tank, about 3 or 4 feet long. i have one available to me that's about 5 1/2 feet long. so i will probably cut a foot or two off and use that section for the fire box. but its sounding more and more to me that a pipe is not the way to go. i...

    first smoker build

So my plan is to use two air compressor tanks (obviously different sizes).  and my biggest question is, can i just weld a piece of pipe to the top of the fire box and extend it horizontally through the cook chamber?  i was wondering if this pipe (with holes drilled through it) would be easier to...
