Newbie with a used Little Chief

On a whim I decided to buy a used Little Chief electric smoker for $15.00 after a couple years with a charcoal kettle grill.  And I though it time to jump into the Roll Call.  I also have one of those huge three burner propane grills, really its just an outdoor stove top, and it sucks for long...

    Stok Tower

Here's another update on my Stok Tower grill as someone may find this thread while researching Stok Charcoal Grills.  My Tower grill is still working great and I've learned how to regulate and maintain the temperature. - I've come to appreciate that the Tower grill sits up higher than most drum...

Newbie and his electric smoke box

Well, the salmon turned out great, but the pork loin steaks were dry.  I should have removed the pork much earlier as eight hours in a smoker is way too long.  I'll just chop up the pork and use it in some chili or something.  My smoker mod is almost done and that will provide an 1100 watt...

Newbie and his electric smoke box

's smoke session in my Little Chief electric smoker.  The pic shows the salmon and pork loin steaks at the second chip fill. Oh, I created a cover from extra stuff to insulate the smoker a bit and keep the wind off it.  I'm in the process of modifying a wooden smoker cover that had been...

Newbie and his electric smoke box

I'm new to the group, not to Pure Michigan.  A couple weeks ago I bought a second-hand Little Chief smoker box on a whim. It was a smoker box that I'd used years ago. My first smoke session with salmon was on the coldest night of this Spring a couple weeks back, but it worked after wrapping the...

Got a Little Chief Model 9900 and am eager to smoke some apple wood

My second smoking session with salmon and pork loin went very well.  I found that covering the smoker with a box keeps the wind off it and the temp up.

Got a Little Chief Model 9900 and am eager to smoke some apple wood

Welcome, bgoodr. I also got a little chief second-hand - for $15.00 a few weeks ago. I use wood chips, but there is a guy that uses "cookies": http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/115319/modifying-a-totem-big-chief-smoker-with-a-hotter-element-for-colder-climates-and-hot-smoking I just...

    Stok Tower

So, it's been a couple years now with my Stok Tower charcoal grill and, despite this being an old discussion, the search engines put this as one of the top results when searching about the Stok Tower charcoal grill. I wanted to add my experience over the past couple years with the grill. The...

    Stok Tower

It's been a few months now with the Stok Tower charcoal grill and I wanted to provide and update for anyone who may find this discussion. First, I like the grill and for $49.00 it was a great introductory grill to charcoal cooking. That said, it's a Chinese made knock-off of the Weber 22.5"...

    Stok Tower

My wifey bought me a Stok Tower charcoal grill for Christmas.  I've always used my gas grill, but haven't touched it since the Stok arrived.  Charcoal is a new cooking experience for me and we've all benefited from the new grill and smoking process. Aside from my first time with the pizza stone...
