    Corn cob pellets

We lived in northern Vermont where cob smoked hams and cheeses are the norm. Years ago when I bought my maze tray, Amaz-n- had tons of cob pellets. I guess the company is no longer? I can not find them anywhere now, BUT… cob smoke flavor is outstanding I use it almost exclusively on cheeses...

    Here's to the latest group.

So the last East for me.... it’s been a few years and the new state of the state dictates I bring out a gravity feed smoker I started years ago. Working on finishing it this week as the quarantine has idled all of the things I need to do for my “other” life.. saying hi to all

This quarantine made me bring out my 5 year old frame for a gravity feed cabinet I started. Another week and a tank of argon/CO2 and it will be ready for paint

    Green wood chips

Good Morning, I enjoyed the aquatic web pages. Loved that stuff for years,in fact, there is still a 250 gallon plexi tank embedded in my wall. I built a monster splitter to utilize my hurricane Sandy wood supply. Most were 16-20" logs, split and dried over 2 years. As oak splits, it shears...

Now that there is a group of people from NJ, has or is there a plan to meet a few clusters of people scattered around the area. Ive been up and down County Line road for over 40 years so I guess we know I'm on the ocean/Monmouth border. I have made 4 smokers. A 275 oil tank reverse flow on a...

    Making some wine

Seems that we got lucky...it has not really been cold. Night temps dropped to about 60 and the garage stayed closer to 68 at night and daytime has been mid 70's. Tried a small pressing to see if it would work out so we didn't lose it all. Made a 30+ gallon batch of red Zinfandel looking real...

    Making some wine

Never have used yeasts. Usually crushed the grapes and not added anything. It's one of those " here's how your great great grandfather did it in Italy " things that my grand mother showed me nearly 27 years ago. I know we usually started mid September .

    Making some wine

The time may have gone by but the temps just started hitting the mid 60's... Do you think it's too late to start a batch of wine in the pavement state (NJ )

Dropped by to say hello. Honestly for the population density of the state, the smoker ratio is incredibly small. After 30+ years here the only places I'd ever really found good smoke was in private yards in Vermont where we used to live and in the southeast while traveling. The few places in...

    Bread/pizza oven thread

I was actually thinking that I like to style it like the dome.  But i have read a lot about vermiculite fill over the dome and then framed out with metal studs.  Might be less traditional looking but easy for me to get a cleanly finished look to it

I love your friends plans... I know this crowd, we have a few here and my friend is a judge in the county as well. The frost line here is 36". 34 years ago I dug a 6' square hole to pour a concrete pad block for a 70' amateur radio tower using a single shovel. While it was tiring in the soils...

I hear those stories a LOT !  Here is one I had done.  RUMOR has it that the Army and Harley Davidson did not reveal any production data so the enemy would have no idea how many bikes were running around Europe Here's mine.... They even had decapitation rods on them because the Nazis would...
