    Pork belly in michigan

I did check Sam's Club and Costco in Ann Arbor. I have both memberships. Sam's Club doesn't have pork belly. Costco has it but it's already sliced and packaged like bacon. I was able to get a small slab for my first attempt from Sparrow Market in Kerrytown. It cost north of $5/lb

    Pork belly in michigan

Im bumping an old thread that came up in a search. I found John Henry's farm that is a possible source for pork belly in Michigan. They only do mail order or you can order online and pick up at either farmer's markets in Royal Oak or another location in the thumb on weekends in the summer. They...

    Canadian bacon - dry brine

I guess it really doesn't matter if it's accurate as long as everything is consistently being weighed the same. Thanks, I'll look in to that model.

    Canadian bacon - dry brine

Do you have a scale that can accurately weigh tenths of a gram?

First Go at Belly Bacon with Pop's Brine - Started 5/6/17

You're right. I'm wrong. It's the same by weight. Most of the recipies I use when I make bread, call for more kosher salt by weight if you use kosher salt instead of table salt. I typically get the same amount of flavor from the lower density.

First Go at Belly Bacon with Pop's Brine - Started 5/6/17

We try to keep our sodium intake as low as possible. The only salt brand we use is Diamond Crystal Kosher salt. Comparing the stats on the back of the box to other brands, the sodium content is lower. I stopped using any Morton brand salt a while ago. I get a large box of diamond crystal at a...

    Silicone

If the tube doesn't say something about being rated to a temp of 500 degrees or something like that, I would just go get a tube from an auto supply store.  I got clear silicone for mine because I didn't want to have to look at a red or black bead even though they are rated at a higher temp.  I...

    eCourse

I signed up for the course but I only got 1-3.  Four and five never came.  I went to sign up again.  It told me I was already signed up.  I assume that without adding another email, I won’t get the rest of the course.

That's like the time I booked a 9AM flight to Philly.  It turned out to be a 9PM flight.

Masterbuild XL Mods - Post your mods here!

I am about to start constructing my cart.  I bought some locking casters from Harbor Freight.  I'd actually like to add tires similar to the 10" tire below but I don't know where I could get or how I can add an axle.  I'd like to be able to move it to my back yard from the garage if possible. ...

Masterbuild XL Mods - Post your mods here!

FYI. Yesterday I emailed Masterbuilt through it's website.  I let them know that one of my screws for the handle wouldn't screw in.  The threads in the handle must have been bad.  I also read recently that some people question the durability of the burner.  I requested a replacement for the...

Did you have any trouble getting the AMNPS to stay lit before you added the chimney?

Where did you purchase the chimney? Edit: Never mind.  If I would have read a couple of posts higher in the thread, I would have seen the answer.  Nice mods.  I may build a similar cart.  I have to figure out where I am going to put this in my garage.  They built this house with a two car...
