    Mats are good i usually just roll mine out on a cookie sheet with parchment paper underneath then put some on top and throw it in the freezer. i used to use hi mountain all i use is jerky gold marinade now. Real nice hickory flavor. Those guys make good marinade

    Looks interesting and tasty!! I had done similar things to what you've done also. I have spent a lot of money on cures, marinades, rubs, etc for jerky. Then i found out about a marinade called Jerky Gold Marinade. I only use that now. Its great right outta the bottle but i doctor it up...

    140-145 is fine also. On some older dehydrators from the 80s early 90s that was their max setting. 160 is the "standard" temp now by the books but 140-145 is good. Paper towel method is preference. I dont like missing out on extra flavor. I usually mix mine up in a bowl for several minutes...

    Love making jerky!! When we make Elk jerky, venison or beef we use Jerky Gold Marinade on our jerky! Sooo goood best we have had!!
